Gregory Hayden, MD, specializes in advanced cataract surgery and lens implantation as well as premium LASIK and refractive surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the prestigious Refractive Surgery Alliance, the American Refractive Surgery Council, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Hayden received his Medical Degree in 1993 at Indiana University in Indianapolis, graduating with honors in the top ten percent in his medical class. He completed his medical and surgical Ophthalmology Residency at Indiana University in 1997.
He has completed specialty training in advanced cataract surgery techniques and LASIK surgery, as well as specialized lens implants and corneal transplant procedures. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hayden is the first in the area to perform laser cataract surgery and has more experience with laser cataract surgery than any surgeon in the tri-state area. He is also the first surgeon in the area to perform the KAMRA reading vision procedure to reduce or eliminate the need for reading glasses. He has been selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists for LASIK & Cataract Surgery and was named as a Top 10 Doctor in Indiana. He has been recognized as being in the top ten percent of doctors in America.
Dr. Hayden was born and raised in the tri-state area. He and his wife, Rhea, currently live in Evansville and enjoy hiking, traveling, and good food. He has three adult children, Emilee, Adam, and Isaac – who occasionally still like to hang out with dad – and one grandson, Emmitt.
